We offer multiple extensive rehabilitation techniques.
For most people, withdrawing from alcohol or substances is the most uncomfortable part of the recovery process. The withdrawal symptoms can at times be daunting, or downright painful. Our Detox program provides our guests with the greatest amount of relief from symptoms. Our team of doctors and licensed professionals will tend to your every need and discomfort during the detoxification process.
Detoxification can be a dangerous process if attempted outside the supervision of a licensed medical professional. Our clients have around-the-clock medical monitoring and supervision. Satori Recovery Center utilizes a variety of proven and trusted methods to help ensure your health and safety throughout the detoxification process.

EMDR Therapy is a powerful new psychotherapy technique which has been very successful in helping people who suffer from trauma, anxiety, panic, disturbing memories, post traumatic stress and many other emotional problems. Until recently, these conditions were difficult and time-consuming to treat. EMDR is considered a breakthrough therapy because of its simplicity and the fact that it can bring quick and lasting relief for most types of emotional distress.
EMDR is the most effective and rapid method for healing PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) as shown by extensive scientific research studies.
The EMDR technique is most effective when used in conjunction with other traditional methods of therapy in treating these and many other emotional disorders. EMDR therapy can help clients replace their anxiety and fear with positive images, emotions and thoughts.
The lives of individuals are shaped, for better or worse, by their experiences in groups. People are born into groups. Throughout life, they join groups. They will influence and be influenced by family, religious, social, and cultural groups that constantly shape behavior, self‐image, and both physical and mental health.
At Satori Recovery Center, our group therapy sessions support individual members in times of pain and trouble, and they can help people grow in ways that are healthy and creative.
Because our need for human contact is biologically determined, we are, from the start, social creatures. This propensity to congregate is a powerful therapeutic tool. Formal therapy groups can be a compelling source of persuasion, stabilization, and support. Groups organized around therapeutic goals can enrich members with insight and guidance; and during times of crisis, groups can comfort and guide people who otherwise might be unhappy or lost. In the hands of a skilled, well‐trained group leader, the potential curative forces inherent in a group can be harnessed and directed to foster healthy attachments, provide positive peer reinforcement, act as a forum for self‐expression, and teach new social skills. In short, group therapy can provide a wide range of therapeutic services, comparable in efficacy to those delivered in individual therapy. In some cases, group therapy can be more beneficial than individual therapy.
Group therapy and addiction treatment are natural allies. One reason is that people who abuse substances often are more likely to remain abstinent and committed to recovery when treatment is provided in groups, apparently because of rewarding and therapeutic forces such as affiliation, confrontation, support, gratification, and identification. This capacity of group therapy to bond our clients to treatment is an important asset because the greater the amount, quality, and duration of treatment, the better the client’s prognosis.
Mindfulness and Meditation
How does mindfulness get to the root of addiction at Satori Recovery Center?
There’s a shift in the individual’s relationship to discomfort. Let’s say someone is feeling depressed, or sad, lonely or bored — something that tends to trigger craving and then substance use. The practice of Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP) is teaching people to notice that arising, and to relate to that differently.
Mindfulness and Meditation
So, there seems to be a shift between the experience of emotional discomfort and having that almost automatically lead to substance use. We’re seeing a reduction in craving with our clients, and also a reduction in the tendency to reach for something in order to feel better.
Additionally, from what we’ve seen and experienced, it’s helping people become really aware of what’s happening in their minds. Once they see that, they have a choice and they have some freedom. We’re trying to teach people to become experts on themselves so they can see these processes unfolding and how they lead to places they don’t want to go. Then, they see the places where they can intervene. How do we become aware of how we feel, and practice sitting with things that are uncomfortable — things we feel like we can’t tolerate? In fact, we can tolerate them. We just need to practice.
The Adventure Therapy Group is one of the critical pieces to the group- programming schedule as it allows the client to experience fun, thrill, and togetherness while being sober and clean.
The client is afforded the opportunity to participate in an activity outside of the treatment facility to be able to connect with others including the staff and other clients in a social setting. The clients are able to get to know each other more personally as well as to participate in an activity they may have never attempted on their own. The activities vary greatly to offer the client a mix of pleasurable activities to incorporate into their life or as a coping strategy when life becomes overwhelming or stressful during their recovery process.
Our Clients enjoy activities such as Kayaking, Paddle-Boarding, Beach Cruising, Cycling, K-1 Races, Hiking, Bowling, Museums and Movies, just to name a few!
For individuals in recovery from addiction disorders, diet plays a crucial role in restoring health and balance in their lives. This classic lifestyle intervention does more than create healthy habits that can benefit anyone; it can help those suffering from addiction to overcome challenges that could derail them throughout their recovery.
At Satori Recovery Center, it’s our mission to restore health in the mind, body and soul.
Nutritious meal plans are an essential part of recovery for our clients. Using the term “meal plan” rather than “diet” can reinforce the long-term life change that is needed, rather than establish a mindset of a short-term “fix.”
Our Clients do best on a low-glycemic, dopamine-boosting diet that includes most protein sources, berries, oranges, avocados, many green vegetables, animal protein, some beans and selected grains, and dark chocolate. Addicts seek dopamine, and if they do not get it through their diet, they will seek it out. On the flip side, simple sugars and refined flour complicate brain healing and slows the body’s ability to recover. Without the proper diet and exercise, post-acute withdrawals will be protracted which can discourage patients and contribute to higher chance of relapse.
It’s no secret: recovery is hard. Even when you’re totally committed, cutting substances out of your life for good comes with all kinds of stress on both body and mind. Your body has to learn how to function in sobriety, and might even go through painful withdrawal symptoms while you detox. All the while, your mind is screaming that you need your drug of choice, that you can’t live without it. It can leave anyone feeling frustrated and become overwhelming at times, which is part of why so many people relapse. Having a healthy outlet for relieving your stress isn’t just a good idea in addiction recovery; it’s crucial.
At Satori Recovery, our clients start their day with a fitness routine customized to their level of strength. These fitness routines include yoga, water aerobics, cardio training, basketball, weight training, hiking and beach volleyball, just to name a few.
Exercise is one of the healthiest, most rewarding forms of stress relief you can get. Whether you take yoga lessons or simply go for a walk, you’ll get a mood-lifting boost of endorphins that can almost immediately take the edge off. Exercise relaxes you. It works the mind-body connection to burn off the frustrated energy you’re constantly building up while in recovery, and gives you something healthy to focus on. You won’t be able to instantly get to the root of your addiction or find the right words to make things right with your loved ones, but you can start stretching every day and eating healthier. It’s important to have tangible goals that can remind you of how strong you truly are and give you the confidence to power on.
